MothershipX: the Cursor of market analysis
Today, we are launching MothershipX. MothershipX is a dashboard of fertile problems.
Why would anyone want a dashboard of fertile problems? The answer are people that want to start businesses.
Businesses exist because they solve problems for people. Take for example DoorDash. It is a very valuable business that is worth $83B - more than 2x the GDP of country Georgia.
And DoorDash solves a relatively minor problem, an inconvenience: people just want their food to magically teleport from the oven to their doorstep. DoorDash found that minor problem, solved it well, and became a $83 B company.
On mothershipx you can discover the “minor” problems like doordash founders did. Minor problems that, if solved, could turn out to be incredibly valuable businesses. Mothership solves the the very first step of starting the next DoorDash.
How does MothershipX work?
MothershipX version alpha works by digesting a large amount of data that people create online (e.g. tiktok, reddit, linkedin, youtube, instagram, x, …) and finding the repeating patterns of complaints and problems. Many similar repeating problems are “clustered” into a unified problem definition (UPD). The UPDs are then shown in the “signals” dashboard, which neatly categorizes all UPDs into 11 categories, ranging from “mental health”, to “career”, to “social & relationships”.
We spent a long time deliberating how best to present the huge amount of web information without overwhelming the user. We settled for scrollable cards of problem definitions. Users can pick and choose to tackle the problems that they feel they are best equipped to solve.
Inside each unified problem definition card, there’s a detailed information on the problem, including the total social media footprint of the problem, potential business score, the problem growth/shrinking trend, and links to actual social media posts that show the issue.

Mining the problems from social media costs real money, which is why the
MothershipX Arena
MothershipX Arena is an market-driven hackathon.
I really love hackathons – I think they bring out the best in people and start great friendships. I’ve attended nearly every hackathon while in Switzerland and made many dear friends there. So when I first heared about MothershipX idea, my first response was “this is the perfect fit for a hosting hackathons!”. And so, the idea for The Arena was born.
Hackathon is a programming competition (max 48 hours) where people try to quickly solve a programming problem. MothershipX naturally comes up with fertile problems that are worth solving, using online data and AI processing.
For example, in one of the hackathons I was at, swiss-ai-weeks, my team designed a chatbot that reduces your medical expenses by carefully reviewing your swiss medical bill and identifying instances of double billing (basically a medical accounting fraud, surprisingly common!). You could come up with this idea if you search “medical bill” on r/Switzerland. People are really upset with opaque pricing!
However, most problems presented at hackathons are “made up” problems. A wealthy company comes up with a challenge problem for the sake of publicity, and that they don’t really care about. I had a really bad experience at a hackathon St. Gallen where the sponsor didn’t even bother to try the winning solution. They just handed the winning team a coupon and took pictures for the publicity. @Ani and I spent two days coding an app that never had a chance to be useful.
MothershipX Arena solves this problem in three steps:
- Teams register and compete to solve a market-validated problem.
- Teams submit their solutions, either as URLs or public demos.
- A team that demonstrates the most income using Stripe public keys, wins.
Mothership Arena is currently under rapid development - stay tuned.
MothershipX Agent mode
Agent mode is MothershipX for your Clawd (or Claude Code/Codex).
We saw that moltbook exploded in popularity. People are using AI agents to interact with other agents on the web. Agent mode is an extension of this vision.
Currently, MothershipX platform is not easily accessible for AI agents. This is because AI agents work best with application programming interfaces (APIs), while MothershipX has only a graphical user interface (GUI).
We are expanding MothershipX platform to make it available via an API to AI agents.
This is an upcoming feature of MothershipX.
